Name of the room inspired by the Ermida da Guia

From the chapel of “Nossa Senhora da Guia”, patron saint of fishermen and sailors, there is an exceptional view over Caldeira do Inferno, also known as Caldeirinhas (which shelters several protected species of marine fauna), as well as over the Bay of Porto Pim and the city of Horta.
Every year there is an annual procession of the Maritimes in boats, whose starting point is this Chapel.

Description of the surrounding area

Monte da Guia – Local Accommodation is located just a few minutes from Porto Pim Beach, which boasts the Blue Flag of Europe and one of the most frequented on Faial Island, located within the city, in a nook of Monte da Guia. Within its area of coverage, there is the Whale Station of Porto Pim, one of the most relevant testimonies of the industrial past of Faial Island and which is now an interpretive center of the old Azorean whaling activity. This bay has, in the southeast, a set of gray dunes of herbaceous vegetation, habitat that is classified by Natura 2000 Network. Its volcanic origin is recognizable by the presence of two elevations attached to it, Monte da Guia and Monte Queimado. Monte da Guia is imposing by its height, clearly dominating the relief of the surroundings.
